Rot sets in
Like the fresh early morning fog
of a brooding monday.
Like a serial killer looking for fresh prey,
after a sizzling hot shower of
warm uncoagulating red blood.

Rot! Dangerously prowling with cold
icy fingers of poisonous mist
deadening once natural responses
as it spreads, freezing every thought
every action and every intent.

Rot! Maggots eating away the innards
and the cancerous canopy of apathy
easing the self into bliss, darkness.
